UTT Ltd

                            Setting and operating 5 Axis ANCA CNC tool and cutter grinders.

1996 - 2008            

CROMWELL TOOLS MODIFICATION WORKSHOP

Tool and cutter grinder.  Involved in all aspects of the Company’s regrind and modification work.  Programming, setting and operating a Walter 5 axis CNC grinding machine.  Occasional cover for phone and administration within the department. Made Redundant.

1993 - 1996               

ABLE HIGH SPEED SAWS (LEICS)

Supervisory role, consisting of working in all aspects of sharpening and servicing carried out by the company.  Allocating work and ensuring deadlines were met. Answering customer queries and quotes both in person and on the phone. Opening up and working unsupervised when required.  Mechanical and electrical maintenance work.  Made redundant.

1992 - 1993               

ALLIANCE & LEICESTER BUILDING SOCIETY

Casual work involving sorting & distributing mail, answering customer phone enquiries using computer records.  Left for full time employment.   

1979 - 1992              

WADKIN PLC

Completed an apprenticeship as a Saw Doctor and cutter grinder.  Thereafter operated the company’s sharpening service,  5 years as the sole operator.  Duties involved customer relations, advice, quoting, invoicing, goods ordering and ensuring deadlines were met.  Experience gained in working in a BS.5750 environment.   Experience gained in the servicing and repair of a wide range of engineering and woodworking tooling, along with both hand and power tools.  Occasional work on a variety of other machines including, centre lathe, surface and cylindrical grinders, spark erosion, drilling and fitting.  Made redundant.
